I just purchased a 'like-new' 01 Z28 and was curious about the keyless entry/alarm system:

Does the 01 car have an "alarm" as standard equipement? My coworkers 02 apparently came standard with alarm system but I can't seem to get my car to respond to a "door opening". The door remote has an alarm button but all it does is honk the horn. I realize the car has a VATS system but I'd like to confirm whether it has an alarm/kill system.

A dealer offered me a package deal on Lojack. Lifetime warentee on the Lojack and an alarm system for $750. I'm VERY concerned about the Lojack installer messing up the VATS system with an aftermarket alarm system.

Oh, I don't have the owners manual yet....... still working on that.

This is my 5th camaro and certainly the best one yet (including a 69 SS/RS).......... aleit it's a bit too civilized in its current state.
