Car won't start, STRANGE problem
I have a remote start alarm system hooked up in my car and today when i remote started it, it started up then died second later. so i tried starting it up w/ the key, it wouldnt even start and the security light came on everytime i tried and would stay on for like 5 mins...
i have VATS bypassed using a resistor, so i checked the connection w/ the resistor. I then unplugged the MAF and the car started and ran fine... the SES light was on though...
So i tried remote starting it and it started up fine that way too
We connected the MAF back on and started it up and it ran fine again...
i cut the resistor out and got a new one trying to make a better connection, we put the new resistor in and it clicked and the lights flashed a couple times before it started
then it ran fine..
so i tried starting it again, it started straight away and ran fine and the SES light went away
I came back to remote start the car 5 mins later and it wouldnt start so i tried using the key to start it and it just clicked and the lights flashed but it wouldnt even crank!
The resistor is 668ohms and the one i have before was about 680, but 668 is within 10% of 680 so it should work.
But get this, i wired it back to how it was from the factory and still does the same thing! wont even crank
IS THE BATTERY DEAD??? when the car ran the batter was running fine, the battery guage was perfect, maybe even higher than usual.
another thing is its basically below 0 outside here in MA so i was wondering if that could cause it to mess up like this.. the car ran fine last night!!
