Bose CD: Amber or Bluish LCD?

Removed the stock Bose cassette deck in my 93 Z-28 and replaced it with a Bose CD player off eBay.

The unit works great, but I discovered that the LCD on the new unit is bluish while my old unit (and the rest of the interior items) are amber. I'm **** enough about this to track down another Bose system.

When did GM make the switch from amber to blue? And does anyone have a factory Bose CD player with amber LCD for sale. I'll take a busted one if the face plates are interchangable and it is in good condition.

Thanks in advance.
Brent

I dont recall them being amber in anything but the pontiacs? Maybe you got a Chevrolet radio... They of course are interchangeable, and the only difference is the color of screen. Chevy= bluish pontiac=redish. I think thats what you are asking??

Re: Bose CD: Amber or Bluish LCD?

The entire interior of my 93 Z-28 is amber (just like a Pontiac)...instrument panel, icons on headlight switch, thermostat control, etc. and the original Bose cassette deck had an amber display.

Seems as though 93 is the only year that is amber...I've notice many F-Body sites advertising interior dash parts as either '93' or '94-96'.

Go figure...mines gotta be the pain in the a**.
