Yah sorry he's right, you need a new face plate adaptor, antenna adaptor, and one other thing. I think they total to be about $50.

As for the box i would recommend subthump.com, he makes a special line of boxes just for camaros/firebirds. They are pretty cheap running as low as $112. Buying one of these would save you time and the system would sound much better in a profesional box.

Yup you need an adapter for the HU because of the built amp that the BOSE uses. Usually about 30-50 dollars depending where you buy it. If you have the money, just swap out the whole system at once. It will save you the headaches and could probably come out better sounding then before.

I replaced my head unit within a week of getting my car and me and my buddy did the swap and didnt add any special adaptors or anything except for a kit so that it sits flush in the dash. I have the monsoon system and i have no problems with it at all. It sounds better than the stock unit and can get very loud without distortion.

I had the 3 speaker bose system, which sounded like crap i might add. I had to have all of the speaker wiring redone, and basically had the speakers run direct to my aftermarket head unit. The stock amps are a wierd ohm rating, so just throwing any aftermarket speaker in there is not a good idea. Using stock speakers with an aftermarket head unit is also not recommended.

I recommend you either take it somewhere and have new speaker wires run from an aftermarket head unit to new speakers, or do it yourself. You might as well have the amp wiring done at the same time or run it yourself.

Headunits can be swapped out without any odd modifications. Dash kit, antenna adapter and wiring harness. Should be no more then $30 for all three.

If you are looking to add subs... that is a different story. Lemme know when you want to cross that bridge.
