Amplifier questions.....

I have like a 750 watt amp that takes the orange 40 fuse, and it keeps blowing the fuses but I checked the wiring and everything and it seems to be okay. Any advice? Soccaballa2k4@aol.com Thnx

Sounds to me like a component on the amp's circuit board has bought the farm. An output transistor perhaps. You can either send it to the manufacturer for repair or buy a new amp.

Alright

How much would it cost to get it fixed??? It's fixable??? What would cause this to happen????? I have a Camaro and the battery never really shuts off and the lighter thing stays on etc. and my amp is connected to the battery......so it's kinda a constant run but the amp is still off......would that burn up the circuit board? Thnx

Nothing you can control will prevent a device from failing eventually.

As for how much it would cost that is up to the manufacturer. Some may have a flat fee for all repairs while others will probably charge you $35 to $45 an hour with a 1 hour minimum charge for repair.

Local Repair

I was thinking of getting it done locally at a shop, my friend knows a guy that can do it and may charge $20 or so I think. So that's cheap........
