help! speaker ?'s!!!!

hey all,
last fall when i put my car in storage my passenger door
speaker took a major crap.
i do not want bigger/better/cooler speakers or anything.......
just want to replace my stock speaker with another stock speaker or its equal.
that is my ?.
where is the best place to get a stock speaker(besides dealership) or can anyone recommend an equal replacement(if i decide to go to best buy, circuit city, etc. etc.)????
my knowledge of audio stuff is super low.........

thanks all!

Ebay or here you should be able to find some. I was looking for one, but saw that we carried some component speakers where I work, (Best Buy) and I get a good discount so I am going to go with those. Otherwise, good luck finding some if you have a Monsoon unit in there like I do. It has to be a factory speaker or rewire the whole car. I am going to try this component thing to see how it comes out. If it is just a normal system (does not say Monsoon on the deck, or does not have either ULO or UNO code on the door) then you can just go with a regular 6 1/2 size speaker and you are set. Just go to your local car audio shop (Best Buy ) and try them out. They usually have them playing and get what sounds best to you. Everybody has different opinions on what sounds good Good luck chief.

Are you serious??? i have a brand new pair of pioneer 180w 6 1/2's that i was going to install tomarrow, I too hav the monsoon system, so you are saying they are not going to work?

I have an anftermarket cd player and i noticed that as soon as i installed that, my speakers in my back seat, not the ones in the trunk, suddenly stopped working, any reason?
thanks

MarcoZ Yeah aftermarket will techincally work, but everybody has told me it will be less volume since it is rated at a higher ohm rating. Monsoon=2ohms while the regular aftermarket speakers use 4 ohms. You can use it, but you will have to have it cranked to be able to hear it. Maybe burning out your amp in the process if you do it repeatedly.

The deck problem is because it is wired for just a standard 4 speaker setup. The Monsoon is usually six from what I have seen. Your harness was just RF, LF, RL, RR. Bypassing the mid two speakers. Now switching speakers to the 4 ohm will cause you to lose half it's power. I am still trying to figure out what I can use to fix my door speaker since finding a 2 ohm speaker is impossible unless I go to the dealership.

Edit: if your speakers are not blown, I wanna buy em

Yes, he is correct about the ohm rating. In my 94Z the rear speakers are 6 ohms and the fronts are 4 ohms.

man that sux!!, so if i put those pioneers in, will I be burning my amp, assuming the monsoon system has one, I havn't looked for it yet.

I am pretty sure my passenger's 6 1/2 is blown b/c it sounded really ugly before the cd player was installed but compared to my drivers side speaker it sounds a whole lot better.

Is there a harness that i could buy that would allow my middle speakers to work?

thanks again

btw, just got back from a friends house and his little brother is always talking smack about his little civic and how it would keep up with me and yada yada yada, so i put the smack down and ate him once I got into second i think i am gonna have good dreams tonight

If you put them in, you will burn the voice coils maybe cause of the amp I have been told. I don't know if it will work, maybe, but maybe you could find the wires for the middle speakers in the factory harness, clip those but leave a bit of wire to connect back, and wire those to the rear speakers of the new harness??? Just a thought. I'm still newb when it comes to car audio.
