amp for subs.

im bout to invest in a system for my 93 z28. my plan is to go with 2 MTX thunder6000 10" subs. i got a sony XPLOD headunit installed a while back. and i just put in some pioneer coaxials all around, which sound pretty good. what information i need is what type of amp i should go with. i could get a great deal on an audiobahn 6 channel amp from my friend. 500 dollar amp for like 150. he had it in his show truck, but upgraded his system. what i wanna know is would that be overkill for my car. 6 channels... i would have to hook up all my speakers to the amp and the 2 subs. would it be better to invest just in a 2 channel amp for my subs than go with the 6 channel and wire all my speakers, and my subs to it. any help would be greatly appreciated.

if you can get the amp for cheap, why not? you don't HAVE to use all of the channels.

ok bad news...the amp i was gonna get, someone picked it up tonight. kinda sucks, but oh well. i guess my next question is what type of amp/amps should i get? i wanna power two MTX thunder6000 10" subs and all my speakers i guess. waht are the bad things if i dont wire my speakers to the amp and just go with a 2 channel amp for the subs? and maybe later on add on a 4 channel amp for my speakers. i am probably gonna go with 2 amps, cause i like how itll look what brand of amps should i go with, and what type of wattage. any help would be nice.

My suggestion is to forget about using a 2 channel amp and get a mono class D subwoofer amp instead. I'm using 2 amps in my setup. You can check it out here.
