Since I am only running front speakers in my car I only needed to delay the left speaker by 1.5 ms.

Alpine will provide you with that info on their website I believe... specific to the car.

Hey, I just bought an Alpine 7894 also, and I'm in the same boat as you trying to figure everything out . I used Alpine's Ipersonalize feature (only running front components and sub) and it gave me 1.3 ms for front/left (driver) and 0.0 ms for front/right (passenger). You can also add in equal amounts of delay to both fronts (like 2.4 ms FL, 1.0 ms FR- per Alpine site) to give some time correction to the sub. To me, this only seemed to drown out the mids/highs too much from all the bass being synched with the fronts. But, still playing with it.
As for other settings, I just created a new post ( you can search under my username) asking for help of frequency/ bass level settings. I'd like to make my bass a little less boomy, and more clear/tight. Good luck with this stuff!

You have your delay times backwards. You want to delay the front left speaker. Not the front right speaker. The way you have it described it would simulate making your front right speaker seem further away. It's the left speaker that you want to seem further away from you.

Sorry, I wrote that post at 4 am . I switched the right/left, but I DID get the driver/passenger designations correct: You get the idea. I'll edit the post and fix it.
