i just replaced the rear hatch tweeters in my 2000 Camaro with new Polk Audio speakers, and when I play music now I hear a slight hiss and a beeping noise every few seconds that was not there before. It only becomes noticeable at high volume, however the speaker is rated for 135 watts, so it should be ok. The only other thing I could think of that I changed was that I removed one of the cigarette lighters, leaving the harness in the console. It was replaced with a cigarette lighter sized aux and usb input that the left and right channels of are running into an iSimple adapter plugged into the CD changer of the Monsoon head unit. The stock speakers worked fine with the adapter, only that one was blown out. Any idea why it’s there? Is it bad, or can I forget it? Is this just a consequence of aftermarket speakers? I plan on putting in a new cigarette lighter to power the usb on the adapter, and then changing the side wall speakers as well. Any help with this is greatly appreciated.
