Aftermarket radio fitting.

I installed my 1 DIN sized radio with a 1.5 DIN to 1.0 DIN adapter plate. The adapter plate only supports the front end of the radio, the back end is just sitting loose, on top of that the radio itself can't be bolted in with the adapter plate, just pushed in, so it can be easily pulled out.

How do you guys overcome this problem? Is there something else in addition to the adapter plate that I could have ordered?

Thanks!

Re: Aftermarket radio fitting.

There should be a sleeve that came with the stereo that actually retains the stereo.

That adapter bracket mounts the sleeve, typically the sleeve has some bend-out tabs that keep it secure to the bracket.

I don't have the back of my unit secure, and it works just fine and RARELY skips.
