ACDelco 12 disk changer problem

My 12 disk AC Delco changer in my 2000 SS does NOT read burnt cd's. Is this a problem with all of them?

Is that the stock one? Get better CD's. I use memorex musicCD-r's. they have a blue design on the CD.

Gauranteed to play EVERYTIME.

Some of the other CD-r's (even music ones) will mess up.

Also, start the car before you put the cartridge in. If you put it in, then turn on the car while it's scanning (scanning takes awhile), then it'll mess up the reading.

That's been my experience.

If it's not reading anything, including CD's with no scratches, that have no problems in other devices.. then

1) Are the CD's in correctly? The CD's should be upside down

2) see if you can clean the changer.. blow some compressed air in.. there might be a way to cleanup the lense inside, i'm not sure if it's accessible

3) If it still doesn't work, it's probably dead

Yeah. Like if you take the cartridge out, and keep it the same direction, take out a CD, and you should see the bottom (non-label) side.

They have these cds that you can put in that will clean the lense. Its a better way of doing it over compressed air but both ways will work. Sounds to me like you cna the cds loaded wrong.
