Post Repair the Delco Factory CD/Radio or replace ?

Hey folks ! Well, like many of the others i see on this site, my Delco CD player has "has kicked the bucket". Whenver i put in a CD it is spit out with the ERR message.I have tried cleaning it (a year ago same thing happened disc cleaning worked) but his time no dice. I was given an estimate to have fixed for abot $150 to $190.Should i keep the original system or should i just stick on a CD changer. Its a '97 Z ... If I do go with a changer will it be easy for Best Buy to put in or is there a compatability problem ?? Also what happened to the Delco ?? worn out ? Please give me some advice .. BLUESMAN

If there's one thing I've learned about the factory stereo it's that it isn't very reliable and doesn't seem to last very long. Forget about getting the POS fixed and invest in a much higher quality after-market system. No sense in fixing the factory HU when it will more than likely crap out on you again.
