So, I bought a set of Fosgate 6.5" speakers and also Kenwood 6.5" speakers and they both fit with holes aligned in the 4th gens. Seems strange but I came to the conclusion they dumped the "S" size and now just make all 6.5" speakers with the proper mounting ring to fit both the older 6.5" and 6.5"S sizes.
