4gauge wire or no 4gauge wire....
No difference in sound, but you may prevent your car from burning to the ground by pulling too much current through a 10 Ga wire....
To give you an idea, I'm using 10 Ga Speaker wire on my subs, I NEVER, NEVER, NEVER use anything smaller than 8 Ga for an amp, and that's only a small amp, or the very short run from the Distribution Block to the amp (typically less than 3')

Definitely run the 4awg wire! Unfortunately you will not notice a difference in SPL. The 10awg you are using now is OKAY, but if you run the amp hard enough you'll surely blow a fuse. 4awg is expensive, however, if you ever want to run a distribution block to another amp, it'll save you quite a bit of trouble. btw PredatorZ28, I sent you a PM about my remote start alarm throwing an SES light. Please read the message I sent you, I need help!!
