4 channel amp, using the stock HU??

Since there arent any rca pre-outs on the stock HU, is there an easy inexpensive way to hook up my 4 channel amp? I know abot the line out converters, but their like $20-$30 and Id need 2 of them, right? Can I not just cut the female ends of the RCA connectors and splice them directly into the speaker wires coming from the HU and plug the male ends into the amp? I also have an aftermarket JVC HU I could use that has pre-outs, but it only has 2 pre-outs, so what about the other set? Here's a link to the amp I have (got it for $15) and it says high level and low level inputs. http://www.autobarn.net/avxamp604.html

An LOC should work fine with the stock HU and the pair on the LOC is fine for an/the amp. If you have more RCAs, just use y-adaptors.

Just use an amp such as Kicker or Zapco I force that has the converter built in. The Zapco even gives you a sub gain control for hooking up to subs if you like.
