Zeta Impala Delayed

It's official, The Zeta based Impala has been given a 12 month delay. June 2010 instead of June 09. Everything points to Camaro remaining on schedule for Feb.09.

Just great...... more waiting.... the return of mainstream RWD product to GM has had more pitfalls, delays, scratches and false starts than a soap opera. Not that I think that RWD cars by themselves can, or will save GM from whatever fate awaits them, but come on, we've been waiting for quite a spell for some compelling, as opposed to geriatric RWD offerings from the General since they decided to starve the big cars of investment to slowly kill them off last time round.

Twelve months seems a wee bit excessiver doesn't it..... that will leave Oshawa churning out only Camaros on Zeta for the better part of a year and a half.

I agree. If Cafe is too harsh, I could see Commodore trying to survive without G8 in other parts of the world. Impala would just get killed.

I thought GM was trying to get new cars out in 36 months from first drawings to production. Now it is 36 months after the platform is already done, engines are done, transmissions are done and other platform mates out on the road in Australia?

Camaro should never be made to begin with. The costs to get the car out on time are going to add to the program.

Ridiculous.

Ok, I'll call you out. Link to an article or site a source. Otherwise this is just a random person talking about something with no proof.

Because I question why a vehicle is necessary in the grand scheme of things? I'm not trying to be the popular @&& kisser here...I'm just interested in the same thing many are...a prosperous GM.

It's true. Just because "major" news sites havent picked it up yet doesn't mean he's lying. I thought the Internet has gone a great way to prove "big media" irrelevant.

Guess not.
