Zeta Aftermath....
Re: Zeta Aftermath....
At our Bowling Green Summit last fall, I had asked Scott that if during this extended "hiatus" I decided to buy a used C5 to tide me over, "would I be satistfied with the 5th gen, coming from a previous gen Corvette back in to a pony car"? His answer was something like..."I'm not sure".......
Well, after all this disturbing news and talk of delays, I said "screw it", I'll just have to find out.........so on Friday I fly into Salt Lake City to drive my newly aquired 2k C5 MN6 Coupe 1650 miles
back to Indiana. One of only 851 Nassau Blue metallic Corvettes made in 2k......but it at least is the same color as my 1969 RS/SS
Looks like I may have time to pay it off before I need to worry about a 5th gen.....

You think maybe that was a loaded question? I don't think you could compare a Camaro to a Corvette in any year, even perhaps an '02 'Vette to a '09 (?) Camaro.

Congrats on the Corvette, Doug!

What color interior? Polsihed wheels? Give us all the details!!
Re: Zeta Aftermath....
I think you have the right idea, although I would like to see a 5th Gen as much as anyone else- I have pretty much lost faith. I decided to buy an '04 Goat earlier this year when the prices dropped. I just can't see not buying a new car for 4 more years because there is a chance that GM might come out with another F-bod. Besides that "the firebirds day is gone" rang true with me. If there isn't a Pontiac version i wouldn't get one anyway. Of course the way things are going there may not be a "Pontiac" at all...

BTW Darth...it's a grey & black interior, painted wheels
, but otherwise un-molested car.
I've got a set of '03 Z06 heads & cam waiting on it to get home

I still need some remseblence of a back seat, so if I were to get another car, it would be either a Mach1, an '04 GTO, or the new Mustang GT.
I also like the Cobalt, Charger, and 300C, but I rather have RWD and I'd rather not have a sedan.
Re: Zeta Aftermath....
Congrats on the 'vette Doug. I hope you have as great a ride home with it as I had bringing the 1LE home from Gulfport, MS. It's a great time to "bond".
Especially when Scott takes pride in reminding us that a 4th gen 1LE will take a base C5 on a road course.
... and on a side note an SS convertible with Crazy Dave at the wheel will easily take a Z06 with a level 2 student driving at Spring Mountain Motorsports Park (Bragg-Smith).

I can't believe they are going to screw around with the GTO and Camaro (possibly push them back longer) and keep chugging along with two friggin hummers and saturns.
Oh, can't forget about the Velite.

No. I can't believe they are investing more into the Hummer brand. All the tree huggers and media types hate them, and they are poisiong more people with their stupid dogma. I also think SUV's are slowly going out of style, but not soon(maybe in 10-15 years). The future is in cars and crossovers.
Nice Vette, Doug. Was that color avaible on 4th gen fbody's as well?
