LOL. Let me tell you, the more real car people that I know/meet that would be potential buyers don't like the car at all besides the drivetrain, but still they want nothing to do with it, that is not enough. IMO its a mistake to let the GTO be represented the way that they want it to be, by having a car that looks like a Grand Am/Prix from the front and a little import-like. There is really no GTO in it from the looks view. My friend just went to the Auto Show and said that it didn't get much of a crowd and people were laughing at it and saying stuff. That is BS for the GTO name and its history and it pisses me off a little. All they had to do was give it hood scoops, dual outlet exhuast on opposite sides, redesign the front and back of the car with some nice slight GTO cues from way back, and the car would be sure for success. Then us true guys would accept it better and wouldn't be so critical because GM would at least be trying to treat the car the way it should be treated.

Don't get me wrong, I am happy to see the GTO name back and it will be cool to have another musclecar on the road, (if any1 buys them) but more effort is and was needed, it just did not happen, and it is no1's fault but GM's. I'm getting tired of them never giving it their all anymore to make something spectacular and great instead of this constant mediocrity and unimpressiveness.

That's ok. I'd be willing to bet the average buyer for the new GTO can spell percent.

Dud? Talk about a dud, w/ your 97 Firebirds.. the 97 Firebird only managed to move 30,000 units, barely, kicking and screaming. after the GTO sells out all units made, reply to this thread and let us know what a dud it was.. I'm not personally head over heels with it (its minimal looks), but it's clearly a winner.

IMO the 04 will not sell so good. Maybe the 05 will though.

I'll bet you right now that GTO sells out every unit they build.

What do you want to bet?

I got my 2002 firehawk brand new with GM financing at 0% for 5 years, no pay for 90 days and an extra $1000.00 off for the ring in to win contest last winter in the great white north where the hawk was born.
