i can understand if you dont buy it because it doesnt have t-tops (i wouldnt buy if it didnt have them OR a targe) but a name?
Simply put, certain cars/names evoke certain feelings. There's a connection, there's history, there's pride, there's passion, there's a sense of community, etc.... in a name. Not EVERY new car can evoke those feelings regardless of how good a car it is or may be. This year, what car brought 100,000+ people from all parts of the world and 3,000+ cars to Nashville, TN? It wasn't taurus, it wasn't WRX, it wasn't Probe, it wasn't cougar.....it was Mustang. Again, NOT any car can do that.

Believe it or not, there's a lot riding on nameplate, especially if these nameplates are well recognized, established, or rich in heritage (all of which apply to camaro). I won't say that i won't buy the future chevy sports coupe based on name alone, but i will say that i will be more likely to buy it if it had "Camaro" badging. Why? Because i don't want just "any" new car.
