Why doesn't the Mote Carlo SS still come with a V8?
My bad guys, when I made the Impala SS thread I meant the Monte Carlo SS. I know the Monte Carlo SS came with V8 for the longest, but the newest ones I have seen with V8's have the LT1's and I was wondering why did they not keep up the tradition and put LS1's in the SS's? You would think that for the money that the Monte Carlo SS cost it would come with an LS1 or at least a regular V8.

No Monte Carlo has ever had an LT1 from the factory. The G-body Montes died in the 1988 model year, two years before the LT1 came into existence. When it was resurrected as a FWD car built on the W-body chassis, it had only V6 power.
