I do not like F*rd or M*stangs at all, that is obvious. But how any1 can say that 05 thing looks better than the current or recent cars, I'll never know.

I think the car will sell alot at 1st, but then it will slow down alot. After all, this is the way retro goes pretty much everytime.

Same holds true for the Probe (both 1 & 2) as well as the Firebird, Camaro, Cougar, and the latest Celica.

None of these were Retro designs, now were they?

Just not popular/real nice designs thats all. If they make the F-Body look nice, like an F-Body again, have choice, the right car as top model, a sensable lineup, affordable prices, great all around performance, and not go the route of the 4th Gen in almost all ways, there should be no problem.

I was just stating that if someone is as loyal to the Camaro as you are it wouldnt matter if they had bought a new Mustang or not. They would get the "new" Camaro anyway.
I hope that clears it up.I wasnt flaming you or anything.

You get all of that "negative equity" because Mustangs have had lousy resale values for years. You can thank Ford for pumping Mustangs into the rental fleets, not to mention the poor perceived quality. I wouldn't buy any Ford on long term paper, if only because of the poor long-term reliability and steep depreciation.

I've never seen a GT or Cobra rental car. You shouldn't buy a V6 stang, they are too slow.

I don't know where you could rent one today.....but in 1990, I rented a '90 Mustang GT 5 speed, while in Florida.

Lemme tell ya', there is nothing that compares to beating on (actually, blatantly abusing), a brand new Mustang 5.0, 5 speed for almost a week.........THAT YOU DON'T OWN.

No kidding. I saw an article in Car and Driver a few months ago about a guy who goes bracket racing......in Taurus rental cars. He apparently makes money on it. Sick!

I see quite afew people using rentals at race tracks. Years ago at a SOLO I event at Blackhawk Farms race track.....two guys went in halves on a Nissan 240 SX rental. Because their were two drivers, this poor car was doing hot laps ALL DAY LONG.

At the end of the day, they simply snapped on it's hub caps and drove it back to the rental agency.

That resale value is model dependant i guess. Base models are always cheap. I think it's fair to say that they are no more or no less then their f-bod counterparts. Used GT's usually go for about the same prices as used z28's. I know because i went Lt-1 and GT shopping 2 years back and came home with the 94. Some models like the Cobra hold their value excellently and you can still find many low mileaged 93's going for 10k+ 10 years later.

Who cares how fast it is, or the fact that there's no 2005 Camaro.

It's still a Mustang.

I would rather be buying a new Camaro . . . but until then, I'll take the Mustang.

I think I'm gonna wait and see on the new C6 before I decide to take the 2004 Viper, though.

I wouldn't buy one if it was the last pony car on earth. I have never owned a Ford and never will, especially not a Mustang!
If GM doesn't bring the Camaro/Firebird back, I will make do with
the ones I have

Yes, I would assuming I had a good test drive experience and that the real production car has a tin-top and not the glass top the show car had. I would probably wait for the Cobra though.

Then again, if GM were to bring out the 5th gen concept that Raven99 did, I'd definately take that instead as I'm an f-body guy at heart. But if there's no 5th gen, Ford is going to get my money.
