When does GMPD start making cars we can buy?

A pretty big stink was made when the GMPD was created and that was what, about a year ago now? They did a few SEMA trucks (lol), but other than that what are they doing? GM coulda pushed them in with a roar and the Silverado SS, but instead it gets a production engine. Or on the GTO, but no...

Any news on this division at all?

The Silverado SS, Saturn Redline's and Bonneville GXP are the first ones.....they won't be like Fords SVT and put thier moniker on every car they make, but they are responsible for the performance lines of every brand.

Cadillac= V- Series
Chevy= SS
Pontiac=GX/P
Buick=Ultra (I think)
Saturn=Redline
GMC= who gives a crap?

This is totally off topic but I was just wondering how much power your putting to the ground with your set up on the SS? What are you running in the 1/4? That sounds like one hell of a beast.

Considering my dealer of choice is a Pontiac-Buick-GMC dealer, I do.

Touche touche....you need to learn to take a joke...hell GMC is even a joke inside GM. If it is proffesional grade what does that make Chevy? Amateur grade?

The SS has made.....

440-450 RWHP when it was a heads, cam bolt on car..

low 12s on street tires
mid 11s on drag radials 11.60s. 70s

500-510 RWHP on a stock bottom end with the t76 kit with a to low for my turbo 7-8 lbs of boost

My motor did an impression of bagdad when i tried race gas and more boost on the dyno that day.

Current setup is a ARE Iron block 385 cid stroker with 8.8:1 cr ross pistons, lunati forged crank and rods, ARE stage III turbo heads and average of 310 cfm @ low 500 lift on the intake 80 % of that on the exst. Runing a opened up LPE/Holley intake with a BBk 80mm TB, 80mm slp mas, jessel adustable shaft mounted rockers.... it goes on and on..... Moser 12bolt... built t56.... 2 intank walboro pumps.....on and on....TurboTec T76 kit (that will be getting minor changes soon)

Ok the car was 95% done six months ago. I ran into some money problems and sold off the fuel system and some other odds and ends... It didnt look like things were going to get any better so I PULLED THE MOTOTR AND TURBO KIT in case I was going top have to sell them. Thank god I didnt have to.

Things did get better, much better, I replaced my sold parts but I lost intrest for a while and it sat in the garage. My Z06 kinda held me off from finishing the car until recently. Two weeks ago I came to the realazation that summer is freaking here almost and started working on it on my sundays. I have the fuel system in, 12 bolt in, control arms ect.... The Motor goes in next week...

It should be running in about 3 weeks "done" in 5 weeks the way i want it another year. I will keep you guys posted on its progress.

Similar setups with out all the detail I have put into mycombo have made in the 620-650RWHP on pump gas. I am going to have to dump the Factory computer and move to a Dedicated race computer (stand alone) to get past thoes numbers. I want 650RWHP now and 750plus by next year. Wish me good luck and a winning lottery ticket

Your wrong,SVT goes on "Ford" products only.3 vehicles use a SVT spec engine that arent a SVT-Harley F150 (AKA Siverado SS killer ),MACH1,Maruader..None of those cars/trucks have SVT anywhere on them.

How much of a joke can it be? I mean, it's the #2 division as far as profit and/or revenue if I remember correctly.

"Professional Grade" seems to be selling their truck just fine.

This is also kinda off topic, I was looking at about 30 pix of the new GTO about 5 or six of them were of the engine compartment. There is a lot of room in there. As far as GEN III powered cars goes it looks like a dream to work on. A million times better than my Camaro SS and More room above than My Vette.

I was looking at some of the killer RWHP and TQ #s the '03 Cobra was putting out with the Kenne Bell PD 2.2L Autorotor Blower. It puts out awsome flat power curves. The dyno sheets look like the belong to a BBC not a Ford Mod Motor. The Corvette offers a PD blower, but its a roots type, not a screw, i'ts small and requires a cowl hood. The new GTO would be able to fit a Large 2.2L or maybe even the Auto Rotor 3L PD blower under the hood without a cowl. You could make the same peak #s as my Camaro with a much flatter power curve without the cost of the stroker crank overbore ect. JUst toss in some rods, pistons,bearings, rings and a good gasket run 12 lbs and wala... A better than Big block fot 10 grand compete.

The new GTO is a awsome Modern Hot Rodders dream. It's a pushrod Gen III Motor with lots of room under the hood and a body that is kinda bland (I like it) so there is room to customize the way it looks as well.

I Just hope GM keeps them coming.
