What are your favorite Chevy concepts?
Belair was OK. I think that's only because it was slammed so hard here last year, that I wasn't expecting much. When I finally saw it, it was actually a good looking car. It didn't blow me off my feet though.
The SS is simply too big to be as sporty as it was aimed to be, I really don't like trucks, the SSR to me was underwhelming, so Belair wins by default.

I wonder what a production version of Bel Air would look like? They sure couldn't have it's suspension "slammed" like the show car.
When the SSR first came to the autoshow floors I really liked it. But these days are long gone. They really need too much time to bring the cars to market (I think it´s still not available yet). Same will be with Bel Air, if it comes sometime in 2006 or so...
My favorite cars are the Solstice and the G6, would buy one of them today.

They had the Cien at the LA show. I agree, that was one awesome looking car, I still find it hard to believe they had that car on the floor and not on a display on preview night.
Irony of the Cien design is that it's GM's best concept of the past couple of years, yet it's everything Bob Lutz hates about car design, and probally wouldn't have been made if it was designed after he arrived at GM.
Mr Lutz is fantastic in bringing back performance & RWD, and he's also great at shooting down ugly vehicle designs, and restoring respectibility to GM's design department. But he doesn't seem to be the type of guy to really want to push car design, or break new ground design-wise.

) Anyway, Cien was the best looking concept there bar none.
The lines of that car are incredible.
chevy likes:
Silverado SS total stripper SWB truck. I mean jeez, I'm not a truck guy but that thing is the absolute embodiment of a no-frills full-size performance truck by GM. *_*_* B U I L D _ I T *_*_* for crying out f****** loud.
Bel-Air. I like it all except those dumbfounded-looking front headlamps. The rest of it is quite clean and distinctive. If it can retain that concept's posture, then I don't care if it's on a car chassis or truck chassis.
SSR. I like it from any angle, but least of all the rear. Looks a bit too flabby / rounded back there. The seats very much remind of the 1982-83 Viscount bucket seats used on some Pontiacs and that evokes a lot of emotion in me to see something like that again. Overall I enjoy it.. it's good eye-candy.
non-chevy likes:
G6. totally gorgeous and muscular in my opinion. Not to mention I *really* love that interior with full-length middle console and 4 bucket seats. The front end of it also looks thoroughly futuristic.
Solstice Roadster. I really enjoy the looks of the roadster. Undoubtedly they designed it as a roadster first and foremost. The hardtop looks like an afterthought, or there's something really wrong with those rear quarter windows.. the curves on those windows look totally cheap. And the back window itself could use major work.
GXP lineup of CARS, i.e. everything but the Vibe. Those black GXP cars are really inspirational.
Buick Blackhawk. OK, well it's full-blown retro, but it was very well executed in my opinion. AFAIK it's already ruled out of production, but I'd still like to see maybe 7500 of those made.
that's all that comes to mind.. GT
