I think they should bring the ZL1 around as a limited edition car kind of like Ford did with the Bullet, Mach and Boss names. That would be cool.

And man this argument is so old. I mean guys I’ve been coming to this site almost 3 years or something now. I swear every so many months it "SS vs. Z28".

I like the Z28 being the Camaro’s Z06 version, but I think the SS is going to be the top car. Its just how Chevy is doing things right now. To be honest I could care less about what badge is on the side as long as it say "Camaro" somewhere with a convertible top, 6-speed and a V8. If they can do that, well then GM has sold one more car.

I'm betting people who are in charge of the 5th gen visit this site to see what we have to say. I doubt it helps them figure out what we want the next car to be like if they see us argue over models and badges. I really doubt what badge the top Camaro wears is going to determine 99.9% of the potential buyers. The formula for the next car has to be right and we aren’t helping mix it right now talking about this repetitious junk. Man new topic.

I think that I disagree.

It's not simply about badges. It's about what those badges represent to those that might buy.

I also think you may be right about most people not caring about which badge the top model has....but why not make those that do care, customers also.

I'm pretty new to this site and most threads that I see always wind up being an argument about this subject. I just wanted to do a pole to see what everyone thinks, and finally end this argument. Maybe show all SS people that all it was, was a trim package, and that's all. SS should not be the top performance model. I think I made my point on some of the other threads and others agree with me too. BTW at the time Iam writing this Z28 is ahead of the SS.

But its obvious to me as a person who doesn’t really side with either camp realize that you cant make either side happy. You pick Z28 and the SS guys will throw a fit. You pick Z28 same thing. But from a non enthusiast point of view for the past few years with the 4th gen the SS has been top model. Chevy is making all their top model cars wear an SS badge. It only makes sense to badge the top Camaro SS. I’m not saying I’d like it. I for one love the idea of a Zo6 type no frills Z28 and the SS being the big motor all options car. But I just don’t see that happening. I think there are more important issues facing the next Camaro.

I voted for ZL1, that sounds bad *** to me. Plus it goes with the whole "Z" thing. Only thing id worry about are Imapla ZL1's, Silverado ZL1's, etc. popping up in a few years

You can make both happy, just make them both great cars with their own advantages over each other that are made for different purposes and give the Z28 back what it deserves. 1 thing I have noticed is that the SS guys are willing to have the car be called Z28 while the Z28 guys will have it no other way and there's good reason for that, because Z28 belongs as the top CAMARO. SS is the regular car upgrade and is a way to add a little performance to them. Although, it served as a highly produced V8 model for only the 1st 6 years of the Camaros' production, then it came back for another 7 when it returned to all of a sudden be the top car and mess up the established Z28 name about 23 years/2 Gens later. Camaro and Corvette should be GM's Z cars since they are the most high in performance that they have to offer and are already obviously "Super Sporty." Z28 will always be synonomous with Camaro while SS won't, it's on everything. I'd like to see it dropped but then I'd rather see the name stay just because we need choice, but just do not make it a completely better car than the Z28 which should be the Z06 or 1LE of Camaros.

How about a new trim level name to go with a revitalized car? You can still have your Z28 with an SS package, but how about something new being put into the mix as well?

The only thing I can think of would be a super limited and really high priced ZL1.

It sounds like people who have z28's all say "z28", and those with SS's say "SS". I guess thats no big surprise.

This is how you see it in your fish-bowl 3rd Gen world.

All the SS people don't have to make a racket right now, because their car is (was) on top.

Anyhow, I voted for Z28, because I do think it is more valuable to Camaro since it is unique... I still don't agree with most of the "arguements" put out by you-know-who...

Dude you don't agree with any1, that's just you. Some people are like that. And I don't know how I see it as Third Gen. If anything the way I want it is more 1st Gen-like. You seem to have very different views and I can guarantee that I or any1 that agrees with me, ain't changing.
