I disagree with this statment.

I put a good sized, standup, air compressor AND a parts washer in my SS once.

It has also hauled my half-stack amplifier, effects rack, pedalboard and the gaggle of guitars I take to every gig.

Actually, there is no sarcasm involved...just some hinting. I won't say more, because I don't want to dissappear in a black Suburban But, everyone should read what I wrote...

If there is a hatch, it better be very well done, as in, a seperate cargo area that actually holds your stuff rather than letting it fly off the back deck and into your seat everytime you come to a stop. Think deeper and more than a couple inches of seatback as a seperator. Then where does the gas tank, muffler and rear suspension go? Beats me, but the 3rd / 4th gen hatch set-up was stupid and annoying.

Yeah. My hatchback 240sx has a great hatch, and it's rear wheel drive, and the gas tanks big (16 gallons). If you lower the rear seat, its one flat surface all the way to the front seats. If you want utility look to that car. There's people that have brought their whole engine swap/tranny combo home with it back there. I personally brought back a new front bumper and two fenders with it.

The 1st Gen trunk in my Firebird was bigger than the hatch in my '90 IROC...I think the profile would benefit greatly from the return of a trunk, like it began life, like the extremely well selling New Mustang.
How much "utility" is needed in a Sports Car?
Luggage for a weekend Car Show get-away, or hauling furniture back & forth...
There are rental trailers, and trucks.
I'd love to have speakers mounted in the rear deck again, sounds so much better, even for 6x9's...
Have fold down seats that open the front of the trunk?...that'd add utility, and maintain the LOOK...
How'a'bout that??

I want a seat belt that doesn't choke me by wrapping past my neck. Make it adjustable on the pillar so I can make it wrap around over my shoulder where it should be.

I would like window motors that are not prone to failure and are sized such that they roll up and down in a reasonable amount of time. Especially when you roll both up or down at the same time. Also, it would be nice to have express down for both windows and maybe even through in express up.

Re: What I really want from the next Fbod

I fit a set of 4 tires in the back of my Z28 one time!! Couldn't have done it with a trunk.

I have a couple "ground rules" for the new Camaro (incase anyone from GM is listening ) ...

1) I will absolutely DISOWN GM, and feel shame for being a Chevy/Camaro supporter/fan if the new Camaro follows the lead of the new Charger, and comes with 4 DOORS! "Thou shalt not hang 4 DOORS on the CAMARO! "

2) I will be sorely disappointed if the Camaro is in any way slower than, or severely threatened by the speed/power of the Mustang. Rumor has it Ford is going to produce a ~450 HP Mustang, so the Camaro had better be AVAILABLE with an LS7. Considering that the '06 Z06 is barely out-performed by the more powerful and way more expensive Ford GT, it would be a disgrace to come 2nd to their Mustang!

3) MAKE IT AFFORDABLE!!! The Camaro should NOT be 1 PENNY MORE expensive than the Mustang. It's cost more than Mustang for years, and look at Mustang sales vs. Camaro sales!

Follow these 3 simple rules, and the Camaro should be a success, IMO! I can't wait to see it!
