What happened to the HHR?

Sales of the Cruiser are slowing down. This can be illustrated by the current $2500 rebate on any model. Six months ago the rebate was around $1000. Still very popular due to its unique styling and affordable pricing.

If I remember correctly Chrysler initially projected PT Cruiser sales at 75-100,000 per year. If they are currently averaging 8,000 per month, then they are still going at 96,000 annually. No where near the volume they ended up in reality once Chrysler nearly doubled production, but still right around where they first projected before it became a craze.

BTW, did anyone know that DCX also makes the PT Cruiser in Europe?
