Just want to see where everyone is at on this. Sorry no V8 choices....that would be waaay too easy.
Besides, we are operating under the assumption that if you want a V8, you'll get a Z/28.

Sorry......
I'd still go for the 6................probably is just as fast because of torque ratings and power under the curve compared to the high rpm and peak power of the turbo 4........................all theoretically speaking.

For the same $100 (or $3), how much nastier can you get the V6 to be?

Well think of it this way. For under 100 bucks (more like $3 if you know what to get at Home Depot), you can probably pick up 30-50 hp in the turbo motor....maybe more if it's intercooled.

I thought the premise was power adder kits offered by the Chevy Dealer anyway...
On that note, the turbo on the 4-banger in your list really isn't from the factory anyway, so that 230 hp figure is just 'potenttial with purchased add-ons'...

Ok lets get logical about this.
RP said that the main reason people chose Mustangs over FBodies was because the FBody was too powerful. It seems very illogical to me to then add power to a car thats evidently too powerful for the non-enthuiast.
Plus as with turbo/supercharged engines, for the most part, they required added maintainence which Im sure most V6 owners do not want.
Stick a V6 with 5 more hp than the base Mustang engine in it and call it a day.

95% of car buyers leave their cars stock. For that reason, a motor should not be chosen based on its potential. Only enthusiest would be attracted to such a vehicle and your car sales will suffer. Why would I want a car which could be fast after buying aftermarket parts and voiding my warranty instead of just having a quality powertrain to begin with?

And if Ford puts the 250 hp 3.5L Duratec V6 in the Mustang...5hp more than that.... for a Camaro pushrod V6, just ain't gonna happen.
