What do you do if your car exceeds sales expectations by 1,000% ?

The Stage III upgrade is 300HP/300tq
I don't think the neon is ugly, it is an ok looking car, I actually think it is a little girly looking. The SRT-4 is a very nice improvment, it's a lot tougher looking

i actually think it would be a good idea for Dodge to develop an AWD system for the SRT-4. the success of them should warrent it. Dodge could then essentially sell 2 levels of them. Level 1, pure FWD pocket rocket. Level 2, AWD quasi-rally car competator.
Found this dyno of a stock 04 SRT-4. Graph smoothing has been turned up. 235.8hp /252 ft-lbs is impressive and, if true, it's definitely underrated.

How's that for a shock?

hopefully GM is underrating the blown Eco.

If you think about it, those cars really remind you of the Dodge Daytona of yore. Only the stage 1 is avaible right now, and if I remember right doesnt void your warrenty! The stage 2/3 should be out sometime next year, but they are still working on them somewhat.

Well there are new versions of the eco coming out so hopefully that'll field better. If they get creative, maybe they'd throw in that 255 HP turboed Eco that was in the ugly Saturn Rally Car that was posted in here earlier. A 255 HP Cobalt SS vs SRT-4, now thats something.

that's at the wheels?? that's more than its rated at the crank!! and that's after it was uprated this year... WOW.

IMHO, all these cars, saturns, neons, cavaliers, need to be able to make big numbers. There are already a bunch of bolt on turbo kits that bump the evo up to 450, 550, and 650 wheel hp for less than $4k. Most owner's will NOT put one of these kits on their cars, but it's a big selling point in this demographic that your car has the potential to go big. Everyone's a magazine racer, you know.

The SRT-4 was originally expected to sell 1,000 units annually. They sold 10,000 and are gearing up for 13,000 in '04.
For '04, SRT-4 gets 15 more horsepower, 5 more ft lbs of torque, a Quaife torque sensing differential and stickier rubber.
The price also goes up a thousand bucks to $20,995.

I still haven't seen 1 of these cars on the road yet. But where I am ricers are kinda rare, it's mostly nice musclecars and sportscars.

where is this magical land you live in where real cars rule and rice is rare, i will relocate immediately
on topic - dodge did pretty good with the SRT-4...if people have to buy little pocketrockets, id rather them buy from the big 3 than imports....lesser of 2 evils by far
