I dont have 1 negative to say about mine . Its proved to be quite a fun car to get around in everyday , this thing handles like its on rails I havent seen one SS yet dyno under 200 to the front wheels

I am very im-patiently waiting for a better aftermarket clutch and B&M's ripper shifter though .

Re: What do Cobalt SS owners have to say?

Chevy did a really nice job on the Cobalt line (with the exception of the sedan rear). The SS is awesome and captures the essence of low-buck high performance Chevys of the past...minus the RWD and the V8. My blue LS coupe is super in every way, and draws attention at gas stations and shopping mall parking lots. Belive it or not a fair number of people are getting out of Civics and into Cobalts.

Psi-fi motorsports , i am one of the pre-sale testers of the kit, 2.8 pulley and a piggy back ECU. ran my friend with her 99 LS1 TA 6-speed from a 40 and 60 roll and were run dead even up to 120 where we shut down at.

I almost bought an electric blue SRT4, it was a gorgeous car. Then I bought the Grand Prix used for alot cheaper. I'm still regretting that decision.

You know, people I dont think give enough credit to the srt-4, sure it is ruff around the edges, but it is the best of all worlds. Not to mention, it does look nice in a boyracerish type of way, but not to to overdone. The wing is a bit much but the rest is ok I think.

Not to mention the biggest gripe about the car could be the seats, but they are only optional, if you get the side airbags you get the regular seats.

The RL had rattles and weird noises when you would push the cluth in. Not to mention, the guy said he had to replace the front disk brakes (this was a demo car with 2000km on the odometer). Just didnt inspire much confidence. also, the SS S/C only comes in 2 door. Big nono.

Huh , the Neon gets a TON of credit from almost everyone , it definately does deliver ALL the goods from a performance aspect . Its only downfall is the fact that beyond the mechanicals , the body and interior are still , well ....a neon . Thats pure opinion though , to someone else that may be great . For me , the overall package of my slower ( but just a moddable ) SS was a hands down winner . Once the SS pcm gets figured out , which is on giving the aftermarket fits , it will be quite easy and cheap to make modded neon HP/TQ's with the SS .

I agree with you for sure.

I would defenetly have picked the cobalt SS S\C had it been available in 4 doors over the srt-4. Unfortunetly it isnt....

I doubt that the supercharged SS will ever match the HP/TQ of the turbo SRT4. I dont see that happening at all. Better handleing yes, more hp/tq not at all.

Re: What do Cobalt SS owners have to say?

Interesting... so the Cobalt SS is cool, but back when I had my 95 Maxima SE 5-speed V6 which weighed roughly the same and had roughly the same power output (a bit less horsepower and a tad more torque though) it wasn't cool. Funny how perceptions of performance change when you put a Chevy emblem on something. True that was 10 years ago and it cost quite a bit more... but pick one of those bitches up used for 5-6 grand and you'll thank me.

The parts are there NOW , and purchaseable to make a 1000 plus HP ecotec . GM current over 500 hp in there phase 5 drag car , which is a car to showcase the potential in the street going versions . Wait about a year , there is an absolute FLOOD of parts coming to market for this car .
