I just priced one out on gmbuypower.com. It came to $32K with the options I would want. I even put in my Michigan zip code and it still let me price it out. Perhaps it's not a regional thing afterall???

is getting to be too much of a challenge for even redzed. What exactly is a good deal on a $30K+ Chevy truck these days? My best guess is about $10k under MSRP, but who the heck really knows other than the creepy dealer? I'd rather pick a Nissan off a lot than go through the special order waiting game with another Chevy.

If it has a LQ9 in a 1500 extended cab chasis, it will only be as fast as a Silverado SS (potentially a little quicker without that heavy AWD). I have beaten many a Silverado SS at the track with my Hemi. Aint no way this truck can keep up with a Lightning, though. If it were a single cab with a LQ9, it may keep up with F150 Harleys, but no way a Lightning.
umm, 6-speed?
regardless, this sounds like the perfect daily driver for me when I get out of college. I like performance and I like being able to haul my dirt-bike
I might actually consider NOT rebuilding my 92 which has served me unfailingly to the present moment at 183,000 miles.

We have something similar out here marketed by Love Chevrolet, and a couple of other dealers I believe. It's called the Silverado "SSL". It's lowered, extended cab, what seems to be 18" rims, louder mufflers, and SSL identification.
It's extremely popular out here. Santa Cruz-Monterey-Carmel may be quazi-expensive, stereotypical, northern Californa costal cities, but get more than a mile away from the coast, & anything that isn't hills is farmland.

I thought that the SS engine was held back cause of the AWD I wonder with just a reprogrammer with one of those dealer 1500's with the 6.0 I wonder what kind of power it would make and what kind of preformance numbers it would put up?
Local dealer had two of these; one black, one white. Supposedly have the same engine as SS: 345 hp. Looks good except for wheels... major ugly in my opinion. FWIW, I priced out a nicely equipped Xcab Silverado: $28,646 MSRP; I can get out the door with rebates (including $2000 in GMMC rebate) for about $19,500. Seems like an incredible bargain to me. MSRP on the two "Semi-SS" trucks was $32,000+. $3,000 doesn't seem too unreasonable for 50 hp and 20-inch wheel/tire package. But, what happens to gas mileage? I know it's a performance option, but gas it kinda expensive these days, ya know? Plus, I'm certain that those heavy dubs are gonna negate half the horsepower (at least) and degrade ride and braking performance, too. If they'd swap out the wheel/tire package for some tasteful 17's and knock $1,000 off the option price, I might be tempted.
