USED Prius value > New Pruis MSRP
Re: USED Prius value > New Pruis MSRP
exactly.. I can go down to any local autostore and get spark plugs..
At the very least, hybrid cars wil have to get ALOT more common place, to where parts can be obtained easily and cheaply, and service can be done at any reputable shop.
Only way I would CONSIDER driving a hybrid, if I got a irresistable lease on a new one, so any problems that do pop up, would be covered by warranty.. and it would have to prove that I would save a decent amount of money over the long run, compared to leasing/buying a gas car.. and I would drive it like how I would drive a normal car too, so I bet I won't get much more than 40 mpg.

It's not meant to be fast and luxurious. You guys keep forgetting that. It's meant to be easy on the gas and nothing else.
The Metro failed because it was a bare-bones no frillz pos. And very overpriced at that. This prius can't go much above msrp because of the way Toyota sells to dealers. It also has a lot of stuff that the previous efficient cars didn't even consider (options).
For people doing a lot of city driving, this would be great. As I said, if it was battery on the highway (instead of city) I'd buy/lease one with no problem.
