Updated Z06 Specs
Updated Z06 Specs
These quotes come from Harlan Charles, Corvette Product Manager:
* No gas guzzler tax on the Z06. City 16/Highway 26
* Top speed 198 mph. (me: couldn't we get 2 more mph out of it somewhere?
)
* Quarter mile, 11.7 @ 125 mph, with a good driver I'm going to put my money on someone getting a 10 second
time slip out of a stock z06.
* 1.04g on the skidpad.
* A competition gray wheel option (Q44) will be available later in the
production schedule.
* The C6 Z06 will have Halogen fog lamps....a first for Corvette.
* The smaller, 3 spoke steering wheel will be standard equipment on the 2006
Corvette.
* The 1LZ and 2LZ option codes were changed from 1SA and 1SB to help
maintain consistency in the Chevrolet lineup. The "Z" signifies the Z06
model Corvette.
* The fender badge will read "505HP."
* The front air scoop is functional.....allows air to enter the area under
the hood for engine bay cooling.
* HUD is standard equipment on the Z06.

Gotta hand it to GM. Only they've managed to pull off this feat.

Gonna be tough to explain this one to the Honda fans.

Looks like the new z06 will match the Vipers skidpad numbers as well.

EDIT: I also have heard nothing on Solstice getting the gas guzzler tax with an automatic.
Why on earth would it use much more gas than any other Ecotec in a Cobalt sedan weighing about the same?
