It was posted on here somewhere. I looked around and this was the best link I could find. Maybe it's not true, maybe it is...

With sticky tires (and nothing else), I'm damn sure the Z06 will hit high-10s.

Hell, quite a few drivers on the 'Vette forums got their C5 Z06s to 11.6x with nothing but a tire swap.

Re: Updated Z06 Specs

Good Lord..... over 500 horsepower, one of the best performance machines ever, and it gets great gas mileage.....God I love technology. 60's aint got nothing on us.

I'm VERY confident that this thing will run 10's with the FACTORY tire,as long as it sticks. 2 or so people got the c5 z06 to go 11.73ish with the factory tires, air filter, etc. Now they said it took a LOT of practice, and beating the hell out of the car, and clutch, but it still happend exactly the way car came from the factory, only thing changed was tire pressure.

The new C6 Z06 will have wider tires, same Supercar tires on the previous Z that hook very well for a factory street tire, the only thing i'm worried about is that they are EMT tires (runflats) so they may not be able to hook as well as the old non runflat Supercar tires. If they can hook as good, or better, i'd bet money that someone will get one into the 10's factory stock with traction and a driver.

Re: Updated Z06 Specs

Chevrolet should make their own variant of the American flag.

Instead of having 13 red and white stripes it should have 16 red and white pushrods.

Awesome News!

And all of this goodness from "outdated, sixties pushrod technology"!

Love the flag idea! I knew they could achieve this kind of power N/A! Chevrolet kicks ***. And the recent LeMans wins, are without this new motor! Does anyone else stand a chance...........I doubt it!

I'm pretty sure the C5-R and C6-R's 427ci race motor is different. They're not using an Ls2/Ls7 if that's what you meant.

I always thought that the LeMans motors used the production blocks and some of the stock pieces.

Based off the same block, etc. but the C6.R has different cam, etc. to help it compete. If anybody is curious about Corvette Racing by the way, corvetteracing.com has all the latest stats. They just got a sweep in the Portland race even after the competitors got performance enhancements to even the playing field.
