Undisguised Challenger
How caome Chrysler can get this car to market so quickly, and GM still dithers?
I expected the comments, this is a Camaro forum, after all- I think the Charge looks great, the proportions are classic- looks more like the orignal Camaro that the new Camaro will-
How many people will snap this up, rather than waiting for the Camaro to come out? I would drive this with no apologies-

The Challenger is on a existing platform "LX" (300,Charger, Magunum) so most chassis components are already in production.
The Camaro however is completely new from the ground up, everything is being developed from scratch and it takes some time.
The Challenger is only going to offer high end models, sales should be good the first year and then drop off. I only except it to be around a few years and go the way of the retro Ford Thunderbird.

Interesting how the T-bird as 2 seater luxury coupe failed now as it did in the 50's, the appeal for this sort of car seems to be as limited now as it was then.
I sold my 2001 z28 for my Charger and recently sold the Charger. I love the new camaro and challenger. I am having a hard time deciding which one I want to grab when they debut. The Charger was not the fastest car I ever owned but it was the best. I absolutely loved it. If the Challenger ends up being as comfortable and fun then I may end up with it........especially since it should hit the street sooner.
In MY2008, yes. They'll all be 6.1s. But MY2009 will offer the 3.5 V8 and 5.7 as well as the 6.1, and the model year switchover will happen no later than July. So by the end of August or so you'll see V6 cars on the street -- though some people have already seen and photographed a couple on the streets around Detroit.

Hasn't zeta existed in Australia for a number of years?
Isn't the camaro platform zeta.
Camaro is also currently the only 2 door being engineered on ZETA and the Oshawa plant, formerly FWD only, has to be completely retooled to build it.
Holden doesn't have the capacity to build a high volume model like Camaro at their existing Australian plant for the u.s. market. G8 will be just niche enough to fit it in over there.
Challenger is built on the same existing line as Charger and 300.
