To Those pissed about the New Camaro Ad
i just don't understand why some of you guys say the quality of the 4th gen Camaro is so bad. I haven't had any problems with mine. Maybe it is how you take care of them! As far as Formula79's comments....lame duck chassis. Have you ever driven a 4th gen. My handling is crisp, responsive and the car is awesome to drive. I bet it will out handle 90 to 95% of the cars on the road! And a drag coeffient almost equal to a corvette. I love these cars, and it will be back!!

Well... I would say the exact opposite.
Build quality is sub-par for today's world when talking about the 4th Gen... but the LS-1 V8 gas milage is SUPERIOR to a lot fo V6's... and right there with the rest of them.
I can't understand how anyone could complain about LS1's gas milage.
"my complaints are that the gas mileage is inefficient"
So keep your foot out of the throttle body and turn the CAGS back on. Yeesh.

Just a guess here, but I'm thinking the nitrous system might be affecting you gas mileage adversely... the 200 pounds/200,000 watts of stereo junk and the DVD probably aren't helping either.

On page 79 of the May, 2003, Car and Driver I just got in the mail is a full page ad featuring a 1st gen Camaro SS in the "Chevy--Will be There" series of ads. No company takes out an ad like that--a big, very expensive ad in the car mag with the largest circulation--unless it plans to resurrect the car relatively soon. There's just no other explanation. If GM were using the Camaro and, say, the new supercharged Monte Carlo SS in the same ad, maybe the ad would be to help sell the new Monte Carlo. This ad is only about the Camaro. It can only mean that GM is working on the 5th gen, and it will be out soon enough that GM wants to start buzz about it. I would liken this to Ford's T-Bird changeover a few years ago.
I have no inside information--it just makes sense to me. So, my 2 cents. Make mine red, and why not build it on a slightly extended, 2 + 2 version of the new Vette chassis so the XLR, the Camaro and the Vette leverage the same chassis. I like it.
