There Will Be No 2007 Camaro!!!
There Will Be No 2007 Camaro!!!
I've been able to contact GM about the Camaro and I'll post my two emails. Its not going to work but everyone that wants the camaro to come back please email this person till we get somewhere.
Dear Mr. Hawkins,
Thank you for contacting the Chevrolet Customer Assistance Center. We
appreciate you taking the time to write us in regards to the future of
the Camaro.
We apologize for the disappointment expressed in your email and want
you to know that a number of Chevrolet Camaro owners and enthusiasts have
expressed their fondness for this vehicle.
However, on September 25, 2001 General Motors Corporation announced
that 2002 would be the last model year for the Chevrolet Camaro and
Pontiac Firebird. Due to the decrease in demand for the sport segments, this
decision was unavoidable.
Although Camaro and Firebird have always had focused appeal, both Chevy
and Pontiac will continue the tradition of providing performance
vehicles with high value.
GM will continue to support the millions of Camaro and Firebird/Trans
Am owners with replacement parts, reproduction parts, accessories and
technical support through its Service Parts Organization.
GM has stated previously that the company is committed to continue
operation of the Ste. Therese, Quebec, plant through the term of the
current Canadian Auto Workers contract that expires in fall 2002.
At this time, no product has been assigned to the plant after that
date, but GM continues to study possible options. Nothing has changed
concerning GM's production plans for the Camaro and Firebird.
In fact, 2002 special editions of the Camaro and Firebird are available
at your local dealer.
I have documented your comments into file #1-351475723.
If you should need to contact us in the future, simply reply to this
message or call our Chevrolet Customer Assistance Center at
1-800-222-1020. Customer Relationship Managers are available Monday through Friday
from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., Eastern Time.
Again, thank you for contacting Chevrolet.
Sincerely,

Dear Mr. Hawkins,
Thank you for contacting the Chevrolet Customer Assistance Center. I
appreciate the opportunity to address your follow-up e-mail. I am sorry
for your unhappiness that General Motors discontinued the Camaro.
Despite the success of the Ford Mustang, no plans have been announced
to again produce the Camaro. However, GM's plans for the future are
exciting! If plans are announced to again produce the Camaro, your
preferred Chevrolet dealer will have this information at the earliest
opportunity, and may possibly still have product information available to you.
If you should need to contact us in the future, simply reply to this
message or call our Chevrolet Customer Assistance Center at
1-800-222-1020. Customer Relationship Managers are available Monday through Friday
from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., Eastern Time. Please refer to Service
Request #1-351475723 in all future contact regarding this matter.
Again, thank you for contacting Chevrolet.

Re: There Will Be No 2007 Camaro!!!
No they would not tell us our right, But if you look at the window that GM needs to hit for this to even make them money is closing by the day. I hate that they are not comming out with the camaro but I hate it even more that I get my hopes up by looking at all the pictures and reading all the posts. From a business stand point I feel the time is now and if they don't act my December then its over boys.
Good night Camaro

Eh... so you got a form letter response from some peon customer service rep and you expect them to say something that exceeds any official announcements made thusfar by GM?
If anything, unless you work for them or know somebody personally that's really high up, direct from the manufacturer's mouth is the worst place to get info from. Especially when reading a form letter.

I do read posts. . . The reality is no one knows if there is or isn't going to be a camaro. I just don't know where people are comming up with the stuff. Where are the spy photos. If the car is comming out in Detroit then where are the spy photos. Its sad but not going to happen.
