Re: I don't care, I still prefer RWD in the snow...

I agree totally. All of the front-wheel drive marketing from the mid-80s onward also changed public opinion. "Front-wheel drive handling" sold the original Chrysler minivans, beating the Chevy Astro and Ford Aerostar combined, although superior packaging was also a factor. Moreover, older buyers, people who never had a problem managing with rear-wheel drive, are still convinced that front-wheel drive in a LeSabre or DeVille is a "must have" feature. Town Cars and Grand Marquis have lost plenty of sales because of RWD.

AWD Camaro?? Terrible idea!
I've driven Camaros in the winter for many years,
no acidents yet.

Sharing a platform with sedan is fine---just use a diferent body, make it look nothing like the 4 door.

Camaro on stock tires in the winter is a bad idea. It is very easy for it to get stuck in the most laughable conditions. Tires are wide, the tread isn't designed for snow, it's light in the back, etc, etc...

BUT. Get winter tires (such as Michelin Pilot Alpin, or Blizzak), and you will see a whole world of difference. While it's not like a 4x4, it is very amazing, and in fact its traction is better than FWD vehicle with all-season tires.

Redzed - don't know what you mean that it's hard to find winter tires for the Camaro. 225/55-R16 is the perfect size - it's slightly narrower (to cut through snow), and is widely available.
