Thanks Bob Cosby

Just wanted to shout out a thanks to one of this zone's regular posters, Bob Cosby.

As some of you might know, I now work auto shows and enthusiast events for Chevrolet.

I shouted out here, in another subforum, an invite for any that were in the Atlanta area to stop by and say hello.

Bob did. I'm glad he was able to do so.

I leave it to Bob to give any wothwhile impressions he had regarding what he saw at Chevy and the Ford exhibit.

Thanks for coming out and talking cars Bob. The folks on our crew I introduced you to enjoyed your visit as well.

I think your toying with the idea of a Z06 would prove to make you a very happy camper.

I'm off to Manhattan for the New York Auto Show.

Any folks in the area are more than welcome to come out and say hi.

Thanks again Bob. I hope you enjoyed it as much as we did.

When you finalize what day you intend to come out, PM me a couple of days before.

I'll let you know what schedule I'll be working the day you attend and where you can find me.

I was thinking of checking out the NY show on the 10th, think it'll be a good day to see the show (not sure when companies start wrapping up and leaving)?

Thanks Paul - though twas a short visit, I had a great time! Both you and Jeff were quite a hoot!

To be honest, and excepting the Z06 which I REALLY like, the car that I was most impressed with was the Cruze. It is a really neat little car. No, not something that I'm in the market for, but that doesn't take away from my impressions of it. It was sharp both inside and out, and if GM gets the gas mileage out of it that has been bantered around recently, it should be a winner.

The styling of the Volt was really sharp too. Will have to wait and see what the production interior looks like before commenting on that.

Got up close and personal with the Challenger. GREAT looking car. But dang is it big, heavy, and especially in SRT-8 trim - stupidely gas hungry.

On the Ford side....they only had one 2011....a 5.0 convertible A6. There was a few 2010 Mustangs - including a blue V6 that had a light brown and black interior, that had to be the absolute UGLIEST combination I've ever seen. Who decided to bring that out to a show? Did you have something to do with it, Paul? LOL.

Taurus is.....ok. Not my cup of tea. I continue to be impressed with Fusion - neat car! The new Focus is nice, and they had a Fiesta there too. Cute, but......I don't know. Cute, I guess.

Thanks again the hospitality Paul!

Bob

Nobody will be pulling the plug on their display on a Saturday. New York is not the absolute end of the show season, however, nothing that happens afterward trumps leaving your finest efforts on display for the full duration in Manhattan.

It is truly the "period" of the show season if you frame the season as a sentance which portrays a manufacturer's line of thought.
