Take a hard look gents, cause right there...

We can talk until the cows come home about what Camaro could or should be built on but the only thing that matters is what GM has cooking (or more accurately, what the people at GM who are working off the clock on the next Camaro have cooking
). So are they actually considering this Opel platform? A modified version? Is Sigma still an outside possibility? Holden's next V chassis? Perhaps something else in the works we don't even know about yet? There are a few possibilities. All that really matters to me is what they are thinking. Now who can get the scoop?

And that's the key my friend....that it is world class. You can hide seat frames, alternators, electrical relays, etc. But the suspension components will be there for all the world to see and drive. If it is world class, then I can get excited. If the platform is merely the LOWEST cost solution, WHITHOUT world class suspension...then, I am left cold.

Between engine, drivetrain, suspension differences, the varients can feel worlds apart too..
Saturn: higher revvng 4 or 6 banger with numerically high final gear ratio, slightly firmer suspension, firm shifting 6 speed auto
Buick: SC'd V6 with numericaly low final gear ratio, relatively soft, but adequatly damped suspension, smoother shifting 6 speed auto
Chevy/Pontiac: healthy V8's with "sport tuned suspension" , 6 speed manuals, mid final gear ratio's

WoW Somebody actually is thinking of the Firebird as well, Thanks KenS. Do u guys think if this whole Opel platform thing came to pass we'd see a Firebird????

Makes you kinda wonder, what if Solstice was really a Firebird test car. if camaro is based off this tubular platform like "solstice\a possible firebird" they would again be somewhat sister cars sharing the same platform. i dont think a firebird is coming back, if its based on the solstice platform if theres also a solstice in production. wouldnt they X themselves out?
