Between Targa and T-top, i prefer targa.
Re: T-Tops, Targa, or none on the chevy performance coupe
Targas are for vettes, t-tops just fit the Camaro (and yes i know that vettes used to have them as well). I would have a very hard decision on my hands if a new Camaro did not come with T-tops. BRING THE T-TOP BACK WITH THE CAMARO. Most of the 4th gen buyewrs opted for that option anyways, why get rid of it?
Sunroofs are crap, I want that open air feeling, without having a convert

And, what, 85% of F-Body buyers agreed buy purchasing T-Tops, right?
Its that high because many of us didn't get a choice. '01-'02 T/As couldn't eliminate t-tops, and I couldn't find any '01 Formula within 2000 miles with this combination: manual hardtop. So my '01 is the second Trans Am I bought with t-tops, an option I really didn't want. Just like many people buy loaded cars with a sunroof or other options/packages because they don't want to special order a car. Dealerships drive that 85% number, anything that adds to the MSRP makes them smile.

Re: T-Tops, Targa, or none on the chevy performance coupe
if i have the money to get a camaro, i will be ordering it, unless they have some insane deals on the lot, i want my own car. is a/c still optional, cause i never use it, thats what windows are for
Re: T-Tops, Targa, or none on the chevy performance coupe
It's not like Chevy doesn't know t-tops are popular options....80%+ market penetration.....it's just not something the engineers are giving on this time around.
Chassis flex design targets, door design and other reasons just won't allow it.

. It's because ~85+% of F-body owners do like them that almost all of them came that way anyways
.I'm not going to be surprised if they don't make the 5th-gen with T-tops, but it certainly would be nice if they did!

I'll buy that for a small percentage... OK, I'll drop the number 3-5% even .
Fact is, T/A's didnt make T-Tops standard till the last few model years, like you said, and if you couldn't find a Formula without T-Tops, you could have asked your dealer to do a dealer trade and get one, or even build the car to your specs.
Add to that the fact that T-Tops were standard on no Camaros, and the T/A "forced" T-Tops numbers shrink even further, so the 3-5% thing is pretty generous.

If this is the case, then every single Corvette made from now on should be a hardtop.
