I'm not sure Toyota represents the "other end". Aside from their bread and butter Corolla and Camry, they're not afraid to ditch names

Tercel > Echo > Yaris
T100 > Tundra
Cressida > Avalon
Toyota Van > Sienna

Good point. I was thinking mainly of Corolla and Camry, clearly. Don't forget Previa in between Toyota Van and Sienna. Though the Sienna is on its 3rd generation now, I think.
