Who did that? Charlie linked to a summary he posted on another site which encapsulated his view on this topic entirely. Why write it out twice? It isn't like he linked to the home page and made you join to read it. That would be 'self promotion.'

That will change, both with more powerful four-bangers, and with CO2 emission limits or with higher fuel prices. I applaud Cadillac thinking ahead and also designing models for the rest of the world.

Saab has been using four cylinders for quite some time in their top models sold in the U.S.

But I like a V8 better too

By GM's own descriptions , those people were supposed be satisfied with Buicks . Buick was "supposed" to take off where Cadillac was . With Caddy's intentions , the FWD DTS should be excluded from the portfolio

The guy's got nearly 12,000 posts on this site, he didn't start the thread for the sake of posting the link, and this is the first time I've ever seen him link to a post of his own on another forum. I'm not so sure I'd accuse him of excessive self-promotion.

Problem is that it's not 1965 any more and GM can't just tell people what dealership to go to. 80% of them will probably end up at a competitor.

DTS outsold CTS until like last year or so. If Cadillac wants to shut down their historic #1 car, I sure hope they know what they are doing.

(Edit: and it's not like the DTS is particularly cheap or anything, it costs as much as the STS.)

I go by the "1 self promotion per 1,000 posts rule".

Why would Caddy use Zeta rather than Sigma for STS?

I would like to see the list of spin-off sites from this forum over the last 5 or 6 years. That alone speaks volumes about the quality and quantity of information passed through here.

As for self-promoting, you can either click the links or not. I just get tired of weeding through all the inter-messageboard trash talk and bickering that break up otherwise meaningful threads.

If it's banned, then why aren't you banned due to the contents of your signature?

First off, "traditional" caddy buyers should NOT be what Caddy wants!! Does anyone know who traditional DTS buyers are? Livery and the above 80 crowd. Oh nooooo...we are gunna lose that crowd!! OHHHH NOOOOO!!
Please.
Second, going after this crowd goes against what Caddy has been wanting to attain this Standard of the World. Caddy is gunna have to take a hit in volume sales and start developing cars that people dream to own. Worry about making true competitive cars, and not about volume.

Why cant a DTS turn into DTC? Bring back the Coupe Deville!! Base it off a larger Sigma, between 6 and the CL.

One, because sigma isn't nearly as flexible as it was supposed to be. Look at how close together the CTS, STS, SRX are in size... It was supposed to be more like G35,M45,FX45...

Two because it seems zeta cars perform almost as well as sigma cars for a lot less money and headache, as evidenced by the rear end problems in the CTS-V and what not.

Well I actually think it will be a Zeta but will have SLA front suspension, totally just going with my gut on this one though. We know the Sigma AWD system is the same as what Holden used on the VZ cars and we know that Zeta will use the same system. It only stands to reason that it is possible that the Zeta cars could use the SLA suspension.
