But your right, it doesn't make sense to name something that isn't a literal translation of the name itself. Good point! There's gotta be some law against it somewhere. Thanks for settin' me straight man, I don't know what I was thinking.
They should probably just stick to some trite letter with a hyphen or slash and then a series of numbers.:blah:

It was a joke man. Lighten up.

Maybe "Zora" isn't a strong enough sounding name, I don't know. But Corvette guys know who Zora was--especially the kind of guys who would buy $100,000 Corvettes, so I wouldn't be concerned with that. Ferrari did an Enzo.

No, no ,no... you got it all wrong!!!

See, the Enzo was a model on it's own, not a sub-model. And it was named after the founder of the BRAND, not the vehicle...
So, we need a all-new super Chevrolet, and call it the Chevrolet Louis

Could there have been a hidden meaning behind the term "blue devil"?

But I think it was the people paying 30K over sticker for the Z06 that got his attention.

67-68 and the ZL1 is better then the L-88
Re: stingray(blue devil)article
Besides, L88 was just an RPO, it was never a "model" as Z28 became for Camaro, or the ZR1 or Z06 for Corvette. Nowhere on the car did it say L88 Corvette, except maybe the build sheet.
ZR1 has been done twice, so no more of that. ZR2 was cool til they slapped it on a Blazer, so you cant use that again. ZL1 is nice, but again, it was just an RPO, and was put into far more Camaros than vettes, it's not a VETTE ONLY moniker, or even best known on a Corvette, though it is probably the best performer ever in terms of power. LS7 may beat it, I'm not sure.
I say something that says SUPERCAR, either a new Z name, or Zora. And believe me, Corvette folks know EXACTLY who Zora is!

I agree 100%. It is all subjective. Corvette Zora just sounds wierd to me.
I still don't think that a large % of Corvette owners know who Zora is, but I have no way to prove it.
Either way, I think the "Blue Devil" needs to have a killer name to go along with the killer package it has. Something that will stick in peoples minds, not just a number or a three letter designation.
