ZL1 seems pretty appropriate. Not sure we will ever see a Corvette (atleast in the short run) come out with as much power as this one. The HP wars have got to die sooner or later, and I'm sensing this might be the last HUGE hp Corvette, for a little while atleast.

I'm thinking the same thing. We may be reaching a plateau for a while - and that's just as well.

And 600hp is a good enough place to stop for me personally . Frankly, the C6 has FAR more performance than I can safely exploit in my neighborhood, I just like the Z solely for its aura of badazzness.

Wouldn't calling the model Blue Devil mean that every car would have to be blue in color?

They said supercharged 7.0l.. From everything that has been said so far it will not be the LS7 under the hood, but a smaller LSX.

NO, are we in communist Russia? You may choose from any color GM provides for this car. Its just a monicur.

But your right, it doesn't make sense to name something that isn't a literal translation of the name itself. Good point! There's gotta be some law against it somewhere. Thanks for settin' me straight man, I don't know what I was thinking.

They should probably just stick to some trite letter with a hyphen or slash and then a series of numbers.:blah:

However, if they did call it Blue Devil, something on it would probably have to be blue, or something to help make sense of the name.

I really hope they don't call this thing Stingray. To me, using it as a moniker is stupid. It was a particular body style. Give the Vette a different name.

Re: stingray(blue devil)article

I think having an actual 'name' for a trim level is silly. The right way is to take Corvette and add some random letters and or numbers after it.

Re: stingray(blue devil)article

Hmm devil rays have blue on their backs and closely resemble stingrays.
Could there have been a hidden meaning behind the term "blue devil"?

Re: stingray(blue devil)article

I like Blue Devil. In any case, it has to be something completely different from the past. I don't like Zora. The vast majority of buyers will have no clue to the meaning, and it's not an impressive sounding nameplate.

Then the colour would be red and it would be called Red Devil. But since communist states are secular and atheistic, the word Devil would be considered inappropriate. You would probably have it replaced with Comrade. Hence, Red Comrade. Of course, building many of these cars would make a whole army! A Red Army, out of all things! Sell them in the States, and you'll have Red Army invading the capitalist haven.
