I've seen it and it is pretty cool. One thing I noticed is how much your design is similar to the yellow R&T 2008 GTO sketch. I have a sneaking suspision that at least one GM coupe will be close to your interpretation.

All I know is don't call yourself a Camaro enthusiast if you're saying you'll buy a Mustang if you don't like what the 5th gen looks like when it comes out.

Like I said, Crispey's CTS Camaro was very nice. PlumCrazy's wasn't bad either (and my second favourite), if you like rounded, ovoid cars.

Funny you bring that up. I haven't looked at my own entry since then. At the time I thought I was being really aggressive with the overall lines and the Z06 wheels, brakes and all. Afterwards it came off as too sedanish to me. The perspective I chose made the car look narrower and taller then I intended. Even though I lowered the rooline, the greenhouse still looked tall. I still like the front end treatment though most of all.

That was around the time of the Torana concept and the resultant possible Camaro what ifs on Beta. In fact my entry was Torana based. I practically drew on top of Torana pictures in the rough phase.

I feel that all of the concepts shown here are too retro in their design, (visually of course). Out of them I'd have to say I like sharpshooter's the best. It's the most modern looking of the designs, but still has heritage elements. There had been some pics posted a while ago that I thought were really sweet, I have no idea who they were done by or where they are, so I can't refer back to them. Now, I know that basically everyone will disagree with me, but I feel the next Camaro should mimmick the Corvette more so than the Mustang. It should just go on a diet and weightloss program like the 'Vette did. It's design should be modern and it should be very aggressive looking. Now, I have no problem with the car being more practical, but it shouldn't go retro like the Mustang. It should be sleek looking, it should in no way resemble a brick.

PS. I forget who said it but here is your first anti-retro post whoever you are

Please listen up GM...Just give us a new Camaro with a SHARP style that screams CAMARO and really stands out from everything else on the road!!! Grrr...I've changed my stance, even if it has to be part retro, then fine! Just as so long as the thing is HOT!

Even though I don't like the idea of waiting another 3 years (give or take) for this new Camaro to come out, I will gladly wait for the RIGHTLY styled version. Big V8 would be a nice bonus (RWD is a given folks).

Yeah, I think everybody here took up the "retro sucks" bandwagon way too early.

They were just having bad wet dreams because Ford did it first.

Bring it Retro/Non-Retro as long as the thing looks hot and performs well - it will sell...

Re: Is this still the closes illustration of what the next Camaro might look like?

I recall when the CTS 1st turned up in car mags, it was slammed by everyone including me.

Then as we saw it in person.......

People at 1st called the new GTO big!

Again, as more and more people actually saw one in person.....

Now we have a series of drawings based on pretty generalized descriptions of Chevy's new coupe, which undoubtedly is undergoing constant small tweaks here & there. No way on the planet we'll know what those tweaks look like in the end, even if FBod himself described it to us.

Yet, without even seeing the paint off the thing, there's already the herd mentality lining up to slam the thing.

Lets just appriciate that we have a general idea of what to expect, and wait to see how the thing actually looks in person.

I'd wager GM is going to put out a car that's going to be one h*ll of a looker. There's too many people who are excited about GM's future designs for it not to be.

This is a fantastic thread.

So many good concepts.......I've seen them all before but it's nice to have them all in one place.

I can imagine how utterly sexy that would look in person.

I agree, if it looks like that it will be great! Dont know if anyone has tried this yet, but I made convertible out of it. Wow, I think it works.

Im putting mine up cause...its...red?
One thing that most of the designs I see are missing, are aggressive front ends. They are all soft and retro looking, nothing modern or in your face bold.

I think it needs more "Camaro" in it but I like that aggressive front end. That convertable one or two posts up looks good too.

Cant wait till more info starts to trickle out leading up to NAIAS
