I honestly think the GT has a power edge on ZO6. Ford really hasnt been screwing around with its forced induction motors lately. The GT's chassis dynamics have been revealed to all as pretty damn spectacular (as long as the frontend doesnt fall apart), however, ZO6's have not. That is the final factor, and depending on the track they test on, could be the pivitol point. ZO6 certainly has a fighting chance, and would be hot on the heels of the GT even in defeat, but I just cant agree right now that the ZO6 will win outright.
The fact that ZO6 is a regular production machine, whilst the GT is a limited production collector magnet, SHOULD factor into any subjective analysis. Hopefully...

That's the base price. You can easily expect to see fully optioned examples pushing the $75,000 mark.
Am I the only one who's sad to see this sort of alarming price increase? We should all remember that the last truly clever "performance" variant of the Corvette was the lighter, cheaper and quicker Hard Top model that premiered in 1999. Of course, by 2001 the cheapest Corvette model had been replaced by the most expensive non-convertible - the Z06. We all praised it at the time. We praised it again when the power increased from 385 to 405.
Maybe GM got the wrong message. The 2001 Z06 started life as a sub-$50K replacement for the sub-$40K Hardtop. People bought the Z06 in greater numbers than the Hardtop. The success of the C5 Z06 might have been the sort of encouragement that GM absolutely didn't need.
Now GM has the audacity to push the top-dog Corvette into the price stratosphere. I griped when I saw my first $55k C6 coupe. Don't expect me to praise the C6 Z06 when I see the $75K sticker.

I was thinking of making a valved muf. for the Buell, after riding without one yrs. ago I noticed a tremendous amount of tq. in the higher rpms, that was not there before. One of these days, when I get some decent work space at home, maybe I'll coble something together! Then I found out Ferrari also uses this too, not only that but the new Buells too. I think its very Cool, and it works on the new XB's real nice. I'm sure the Z06 is no different!
Like Eddy Murphy said, " Vata Bagan", only the Z06, ain't no damn chop stix, or .29 cents! Flashbacks are a Bitch ain't they!
Step back from the sticker for a minute, and like the guy says, compare the sticker of the other cars that compare!! Then you won't be so shocked! Oh wait, non do sorry!

Nissan was the first company I ever heard of doing that... on the 2002+ Altima V6. They now have it on pretty much all their cars as do many other manufacturers.

There's a "cags" delete sort of trick one can do as well... but that's enough about that.

I don't know about production cars, but I believe this technology has been around for quite some time in racing applications. I believe that the Formula 1 McLaren team is speculated to have been messing around with this in the early 90's, before the FIA banned it. Someone feel free to jump in with the details, if I am too wrong or too sketchy.

The new Z06 idles like...well it idles better than my 2002. Over 3500 rpm it's... well, If you can't feel an extra 100 HP in the "seat of the pant"...you need a new seat.

Right now I cannot make a judgment about handling... Can't wait for some comparisons.
When is the Z06 coming out?
