It's bogus. The Hemis won't fit in the Nitro.

 

It doesn't matter how fast it goes...you can't outrun ugly.

 

Does it look like manufacture plates to you? Someone in the comments section of Autoblog said that it had them. I don't know what they look like so i didn't know if they were just blowing smoke or not.

 

 

Yes, they're manufacturer plates. If you look on the bottom line of the plate on the straight on rear shot you can make out "manufacturer."

Nonetheless, I think someone at Dodge is funnin' with this. Hemi won't fit, and even if it would, I don't see any genuine SRT/8 high-riding on the suspension like that. Wouldn't meet their handling standards for the labl like that, I'm sure.

 

Kind of along the lines of me wanting to put SS badges on an Aveo (with a turbo added of course), or Ferrari badges on a Yugo... just to see if someone would notice.

 

Actually, Mopar's 4.7 might V8 fit. Tune it out to 320 hp or so, that might make for a fun-ish ride.

 

just because the displacement is small, it doesn't mean the outside dimensions are.

 

It is actually smaller than the Hemis. Quick proof: The Hemis won't fit in the Dakota without extensive reworking, but the 4.7 is a factory option.

 

that's some good proof^ I would assume that the ohc v8 is larger than the ohv hemi...

 

You can assume that all you like. But before you go too far with that assumption, talk to some other Mopar guys.
