Put that turbo in a hardtop for under 23 grand and I'll no longer be holding out for the El Camino...er.... assuming it's greenlighted. 
I'm pretty sure it's intentional given the way everything about the Solstice seems almost to be "leaked" through GM's media and higher ups on an almost continual basis.

Seriously though, we never touch the cars or the manufacturers could have us by the short and curlies.

The Ecotec has been around for a long time, and is fairly well established as being capable of over a thousand horsepower when built up. It isn't a new name by any means, and I guess to appease people like yourself they could have just left the name off the engine. I don't really think it is a big deal either way though.

Not to say its not a great engine, but I'll be more impressed when I see street versions running 500hp on stock internals. The ecotech is an aluminum, open deck block, not an iron closed deck boost monster like the 4g63.

Love it. It's just too bad the original concept of 240hp and 2400 lb. isn't gonna happen by a long shot

As if "true duals" were really that big a deal on a 90deg crank V8 anyway.
