The guy who was tuning it had it on the highway doing 100mph...just playing around he floored it, and spun tires!

My point is the LSA has much more potential.
So you're "that guy" on ls1gto.com huh? Never knew that! Maryland Speed/BEHE did the car?

Wish I had the TVS, but it wasn't out when I did my setup, so I have the Maggie 122. At 9 psi and no meth, I got 515RWHP...go back for a tune with more boost and methanol on 5/5. Roots/manifold blowers are a lot of fun on these cars and I'm sure the CTS-V is an amazing machine!

Have you driven an LS7 Z06? I only ask because, while the CTS-V is certainly badass, I was slightly disappointed (but not shocked) when it was running times and trap speeds very much mirroring those of a base Corvette LS2/LS3, which are similar to a C5 LS6 Z06. Pretty stonkin' fast, for sure. But the LS7 Vette scorches them all, to a second quicker and ~10 mph faster in the 1/4. The LS7s I've driven simply blew my mind (and the ZR1, which I've not driven, simply makes me shudder when I imagine it).

I was happy to see Car and Driver pull off a 3.9 0-60 and a 12.x @ 119 mph from an AUTO CTS-v in a follow-up test. That trap speed is more what I had hoped to see, as the less powerful M5 has turned in trap speeds of that magnitude.

I've yet to drive a CTS-V, but someday... You lucky bastage.
Nope Joe, haven't driven an LS7 ----yet.

The LSA has plenty of power. I can't imagine anyone wanting more than what it provides. You do get a sense that the motor is building a head of steam as part of it's supercharged persona. And even with the auto (which I drove), if you get too deep into the throttle you'll easily get tirespin (glorious, smokey, twin rubber stripes on the asphalt tirespin). You really have to drive this car with alot of respect if you switch the TC off.

I havent driven the CTS-V, but I was breathless after a C6 Z06...
As for track times of the Z06 vs CTS-V, thats what 1000lbs will do to a car. Not to mention lower center of gravity, totaly different suspension, etc etc...

So who in the world let you thrash a new CTS-V!?

I love the potential of the LSA because it is supercharged. But then you think how much more power is needed as I'm sure the can already be a handful if not respected.

If we're talking Camaro and we always are on this board.
IF an LSA ever made it into a 5th Gen that to me would be more worthy of ZL1 nomenclature over Z/28 just by the way it would be set up.

The Z/28 should stay N/A but I wouldn't mind LS7 power one bit.

The Z06 is very docile because it has a fairly tame cam for the displacement..and it still pulls like a freight train. You have to like any car that can beat most speed limits in first.

Or that can accelerate from 0mph to 175mph in just 5th gear.

I agree with that. But I wouldn't bet on GM putting another nickel into the current Camaro. In fact, the CTS-V's days may be numbered.

I'd love to drive a CTS-V, but I have no desire to own one.

Luxury cars just aren't my thing, nor are Cadillacs.
