Also, I want to mention this since one of the Camaro people that drove the car mentioned it. He said that sitting in the Mustang no longer makes you feel like you're sitting up high. He said you sit like your more like in a Camaro, but easier to get in and out. Sounds like the best of both worlds.

Nicer rims
You can go after market for that (most people do). They say the ride hight will be lower than what many of the mules were.
Re: Some real Mustang GT info
I see quite a few Camaro owners going to the blue oval.
Uhh...............Not a chance in he** that I will be. I don't like Mustangs, never have, never will. I find the new Mustang way to retro and not appealing at all.

And isn't that low seat feeling one of the complaints among Camaro owners? (non-enthusiast)
I shall never jump ship...but if my g/f buys one, I won't complain

Maybe you're referring to my report PT. I sat in it...but wasn't allowed to drive it.
The driving position reminded me more of my IROC-Z than the upright position in an SN95.
It was like a 3rd gen...in the way you sat abit lower....but with modern ergonomics. I think visibility would also be better than my 3rd gen.....certainly way better than a 4th gen.

He absolutely loves the car.P.S. - You lucky dog! I haven't even had a chance to sit in one. I live in BFE now and probably won't until they show up on dealer lots. I have however seen it in person and it's very nice.

BTW-Did you get my PM about the LS6 TA?
even though i'm seriously considering it, i'm only halfway sold on the stang in the current GT form...for me, it needs more power (which i know is coming from future SVT products) and better looks (ditching those big-a$$ fogs and whittling down the tail will go a long way)...imo, they made a mistake by showing two very radical concepts after the original design was finalized...visually, the exterior of the GTR and original concept was much better and I'm hoping more of their visual cues get incorporated into the car...an IRS wouldn't hurt, either...If the people from that Top Gear TV show made such a big deal about the Corvette suspension, I dread to think what they would say about a solid axle.
btw..congrats to ford to keeping the weight somewhat managable...I was pretty certain in my prediction awhile ago that the car would end up in the 3600-3700 lb range, and thankfully they proved me wrong

Re: Some real Mustang GT info
Because of all the rebates and 0% financing that been on the current Stang for the last few years you could easily get one for $3000-$5000 below MSRP. So in otherwords the all new 2005 Stang will be about $5000+ more then the current Stang since you wont be getting any special rebates or 0% financing any time soon and thats not even including dealer gouging/markup that you know will occur for the first year.
The car industry has become smarter over the last few years by keeping the MSRP's around the same but raising the prices on the options and creating special option-packages the require you to spend on huge lump some of cash to get the few options you really want.

I don't think the fact that the 4th gen interior was not exactly of quality build and material is not even arguable. It's no mystery that they are cheap and i don't think it ever has been. I fully expect a completely redesigned model in the year 2005 to have a far superior interior quality - especially givne how big a deal interior qualities have become as of late. The expectations seem to be different. 15 years ago I think peopel had completely different expectations for what a cheap sports car interior shoudl look and feel like compared to what they have to day. The bar has been raised.
